Bill Murray applied a job at P.F. Chang’s, the actor reveals. Known for his films like Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Lost in Translation and The Jungle Book, the award-winning actor and comedian recently appeared via a cameo in Ruben Fleischer’s Zombieland: Double Tap. He has three films on the pipeline for the next couple of years including a reprisal of his role as Dr. Peter Venkman in Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters 2020. But he might be on the brink of a major career change as he might have just scored a gig at the popular China bistro.

Founded in 1993 in Scottsdale, Arizona by Paul Fleming and Phillip Chiang, the food chain now has 305 branches worldwide. Known for their American Chinese food, the establishment has since then expanded their offerings with wine, specialty drinks and even coffee. And if things go well with P.F. Chang’s talks with Murray, the actor might just be the company’s latest hire.

During a guesting at Amy Schumer’s podcast 3 Girls 1 Keith (via CNN), Murray expressed his many interests which includes Family Feud and the Roosevelts. During the conversation, he also mention his love for P.F. Changs, so much so that he even applied for a job at the restaurant chain. “I did fill out an application at P.F. Chang’s at the Atlanta airport, because I think that’s one of the great places,” he said. Schumer pressed the actor for details, but while he didn’t say what specific work he wants to do for the company, he just reiterated that “it looks like the best time” working for them.

Upon learning about Murray’s comment, P.F. Chang’s marketing didn’t waste any time to go to work. They pretty much hired him on the spot to join their organization via the company’s official Twitter account. While it’s still not clear as for what position, they’re already asking when the actor can begin work. Interestingly, some fans in the comments section were really contemplating on the possibility that Murray will actually man the restaurant’s branch at Atlanta airport. Check out the tweet above.

Chances are that Murray won’t actually be a personnel at any of the P.F. Chang’s branches, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t be involved with the company now that he openly said that he likes them. His mere mention of the restaurant chain would be free advertisement for the company, and depending on how effective he is as an endorser, there’s a possibility that he becomes their official ambassador which makes sense considering that he’s genuinely impressed with the brand.
