Kevin Hart wants to be a part of the upcoming Black Adam film. The famed actor/comedian has expressed a desire to join his Jumanji: The Next Level co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in his upcoming superhero epic, which is set to become part of the ever-changing DC Cinematic Universe in 2021.

Hart has already collaborated with The Rock on the two Jumanji reboot films in addition to 2016’s forgotten flop Central Intelligence, and, earlier this year, even had a brief cameo in Hobbs And Shaw. In addition, Hart has previously dipped his hand into the superhero genre by portraying a send-up of Spider-Man villain Harry Osborne in the 2008 comedy Superhero Movie, though his proposed role in the upcoming Black Adam movie would be his first turn in a genuine superhero film.

While promoting the forthcoming Jumanji sequel at a press event in Mexico, Hart told ET Canada that he’s discussed the possibility of joining Black Adam with Johnson. “No matter what, he’s not going to do it and not put me in it,” he joked to digital reporter Graeme O’Neil. “How selfish would that be?” Johnson, who was with him at the interview, also chimed in, saying, “We’ve got to find the part for Kevin in ‘Black Adam’ within the DC Universe.”

Hart has had a rough time of late. After stepping down from his planned position as host of the Academy Awards following a backlash over some controversial tweets, his career hit another snag when Kevin Hart was hospitalized after a car crash earlier this year. In fact, Jumanji: The Next Level will be his first film role following the accident.

Being involved in a major project like Black Adam would be an ideal springboard to regain some lost momentum, especially if such films as Jumanji and his upcoming drama Fatherhood prove successful. However, the main question of the hour is if Kevin Hart does score a role in Black Adam, who will he play? He could serve as a possible adviser or ally to The Rock’s Adam, or even play as one of the film’s possible villains, like Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (a mad scientist who uncovered Adam’s tomb in the comics) or Ibac (a would-be ruler of Adam’s homeland of Kahndaq). If it’s the latter, Hart’s character would likely serve as a figurehead to the main villain Adam faces in the movie, whoever that turns out to be. For now, though, Kevin Hart will have to wait to see if there is room in the DC Universe for a brilliant talent such as him.
