Bob’s Burgers is one of the most popular animated series out there, as fans of all ages enjoy the humor of this show. And we wonder… Has anyone ever been watching it when the voice of a side character was recognized? Well, those who have seen as many episodes as us have surely experienced this numerous times!
Why?
Well, big names like Jon Hamm, Henry Winkler, Amy Schumer, Andy Samberg, and Paul Rudd have all just been in one episode, and they aren’t the only big names who have graced an episode of Bob’s Burgers!
10. Jack McBrayer
Jack McBrayer rose to fame after appearing on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and 30 Rock, and he has gone on to voice Fix-It Felix in Wreck-it Ralph 1 and 2 and to appear on the television series The Middle. But who knew he also provided voice acting on four episodes of Bob’s Burgers? Yes, he was Trip in “The Taking of Funtime One Two Three” from 2018, Marbles in “The Bleakening - Part One & Two” from 2017, Kevin in “Boyz 4 Now” from 2013, and Marbles again in “Sheesh! Cab, Bob?” from 2011. Oh, and Marbles is a transsexual prostitute that Bob met while driving a taxi cab (the blonde one - the other two are Glitter and Cha-Cha).
9. Nick Offerman
In 2014 - and specifically, in “Father of the Bob” Pete was voiced by Nick Offerman. Pete, the one pictured here in the Santa suit, is a regular customer at Big Bob’s Diner (which is owned by Bob’s father). And in an episode from 2012, “Bob Fires the Kids”, Nick Offerman portrayed Cooper.
Cooper runs a farm that grows a particular herb, and the Belcher children accidentally ended up working here once. Since fans love this mustached actor in Parks and Recreation, it was quite the treat to hear him on this animated show!
8. Molly Shannon
Molly Shannon was a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1995 to 2001. She has also been in Never Been Kissed, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, My Boss’s Daughter, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, the Hotel Transylvania film series… and Bob’s Burgers. In fact, she is the voice of just one supporting character - Millie Frock! Fans of this TV series get to hear Molly Shannon as this student who thinks she is friends with Louise. But Millie trapped the Belcher kids and their friends in a fort, and she ran for school president just so she could have control over Louise. So, yeah… They aren’t friends!
7. Ken Jeong
Ken Jeong is known as Ben Chang on Community and as Leslie Chow in The Hangover film series. He is also a licensed physician, so it almost makes sense that he would be Dr. Yap on this television series (though this made-up profressional is a dentist - but still a doctor)! And he has appeared as this character in six episodes: “Nightmare on Ocean Avenue Street” in 2018, “Sleeping with the Frenemy” in 2018, “Glued, Where’s My Bob?” in 2016, “The Kids Run Away” in 2014, “My Big Fat Greek Bob” in 2013 and “Dr. Yap” in 2012.
6. Keegan-Michael Key
Well-known comedian (and actor and writer and producer) Keegan-Michael Key has been in seven episodes of Bob’s Burgers, and he has voiced seven different characters, including Dr. Juarez in 2017’s “Zero Larp Thirty”, Todd in 2017’s “Ain’t Miss Debatin’”, Cory in 2016’s “Glued, Where’s My Bob?”, Bartender / Band Member #2 in 2016’s “Sacred Couch”, Darnell in 2014’s “Friends with Burger-fits”, Todd again in 2014’s “Gene It On” and Beefersutherland in 2014’s “Uncle Teddy”. The character he voiced twice, Todd, is a student at Wagstaff School who is on the cheerleading squad and the debate team.
5. Jordan Peele
Jordan Peele is another famous comedian and actor and writer and producer and director, and he, too, has been in Bob’s Burgers! From 2014 to 2016, he voiced a Salesman, Band Member #1, a Hotel Security Guard, Max (a regular customer at Big Bob’s Diner), Don (a paranormal investigator), Sandy (a former NFL player who wants to act), Horace (the owner of a magic store) and Fanny (Felix Fischoeder’s girlfriend).
The most popular character here is probably Sandy “Can-Can” Frye, who used the same tagline in commercials for Bob’s Burgers, Jimmy Pesto’s Pizzeria and Tran’s Noodles.
4. Zach Galifianakis
And speaking of Felix Fischoeder… He is the younger brother of Calvin Fischoeder, who serves as the Belcher’s landlord. And who knew that Felix is portrayed by Zach Galifianakis? Felix has been in ten episodes, with plots centering around a high-tech bathroom, Wonder Wharf, Thanksgiving and more, and Zach Galifianakis - an actor known for roles in The Hangover film series - is partly responsible for giving the world this character… for better or for worse. But it is pure entertainment (especially since his character dated Jordan Peele’s)! He was also in “Bob Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins” in 2012, as Chet, a character who believed he was a mannequin.
3. Bill Hader
In six different episodes, Mickey the bank robber was brought to the screen with the help of Bill Hader. And in 2014, he voiced Big Bob Belcher in an episode called “Father of the Bob”. This Christmas-themed episode featured Bob’s father, Big Bob, throwing his annual Christmas party at his restaurant, Big Bob’s Diner. In an earlier season, when Big Bob had previously appeared, H. Jon Benjamin actually portrayed this character. And for those who don’t know, H. Jon Benjamin is the voice of Bob Belcher himself! We like that Bill Hader was given at least one chance at this role.
2. Gary Cole
Gary Cole is known for being in works like American Gothic, The Good Wife, Veep, Chicago Fire, The Brady Bunch Movie, One Hour Photo, Office Space, Dodgeball, and Talladega Nights. He was also the voice of Dr. James Timothy Possible on Kim Possible… and Sergeant Bosco on this animated show! Overall, this character has been in nine episodes: “Bobby Driver” from 2018, “Boywatch” from 2018, “The Bleakening - Part One & Two” from 2017, “Secret Admiral-irer” from 2016, “Sliding Bobs” from 2015, “World Wharf II: The Wharfening (or How Bob Saves/Destroys the Town - Part II” from 2014, “I Get Psychic Out of You” from 2014, “My Fuzzy Valentine” from 2013, and “Bob Day Afternoon” from 2012.
1. Billy Eichner
Billy Eichner is another actor who only plays one character on this show - Mr. Ambrose. This dramatic librarian/cheerleading coach can be seen in 2018’s “Mission Impos-Slug-Ble”, 2018’s “The Secret Ceramics Room of Secrets”, 2017’s “Sit Me Baby One More Time”, 2017’s “The Silence of the Louise”, 2017’s “A Few ‘Gurt Men”, 2016’s “Teen-a-Witch”, 2016’s “Lice Things Are Lice”, 2015’s “The Land Ship”, 2014’s “Gene It On” and 2013’s “Topsy”. While fans are used to seeing him on Billy on the Street, Parks and Recreation and American Horror Story, it is also nice to hear his distinct voice here, as well.
